Privacy Policy
What we hold about you, why we hold it, and the rights the law gives you over all of it.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Sax Design Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 2787630, trading as Ties Online. For anything concerning your data, write to info@ties-online.com, call +44 (0)20 3232 5900, or post to Unit C2–C3, Crispin Industrial Centre, Angel Road Works, Advent Way, Edmonton, London N18 3AH.
What we collect
Your account details (name, email address, telephone number), the delivery and billing addresses you give us, and a record of the orders you place so that any problem can be put right quickly. Every visit is also logged on our own servers: pages viewed, where you came from, browser and device, IP address and rough location (see the Cookie Policy). What you type at checkout (email address, name, telephone number and address) is saved on our servers as you type, even if you do not finish the order, so that we can help if something goes wrong; if no order follows it is deleted after 30 days. Card details never reach us. If you accept all cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads also record which pages are viewed and which adverts lead to orders. We never collect more than the shop needs to serve you.
Why, and on what lawful basis
We process your data to fulfil the contract when you order (delivery, payment, order updates); to meet our legal obligations (tax and accounting records); in our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, resolving problems with an order, helping you finish a checkout you started, and keeping a log of visits to see how the shop is used and to spot bots and abuse; and with your consent for the newsletter and for measurement. Each is a lawful basis under UK GDPR, and any consent can be withdrawn at any time.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for six years after the end of the tax year they belong to, as HMRC requires. Your account remains until you ask us to close it. The visit log carries no name: the IP address in it is deleted about a minute and a half after you leave, and the rest after 180 days.
Who we share it with
Only the delivery carriers who bring your parcel and the payment providers who process your payment — each receives the minimum needed to do its job — and Google: if you accept all cookies, for Google Analytics and Google Ads, and for every order, an anonymous record of its value and items so that sales can be counted. We do not pass your address or personal details to any other company, person or persons, and we never sell data to anyone.
Payments
No credit or debit card details are stored on our servers or database. All payments over this website are securely encrypted and handled by PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, have inaccuracies corrected, have your data erased, receive it in a portable form, object to processing, or withdraw any consent you have given — all free of charge. Write to info@ties-online.com and we respond within one month. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
The newsletter
Our occasional newsletter is sent only if you have chosen to opt in — when creating an account, at checkout, or in your account area — and every letter carries an unsubscribe link that works the first time.
